My Approach

I am a registered psychologist with a history of working in mental health care. I have experience working in private practice, community mental health settings, universities and both primary and secondary schools.

I bring a psychodynamic perspective to my work with both adults and adolescents (12+). I have recently completed the year-long course in introduction in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and I am in the process of commencing formal training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

I provide both short and longer-term therapy which is guided by psychoanalytic ideas. I am interested in helping individuals to enable long term personal change and to become more present in their lives.

I have experience working with individuals who seek help for a range of psychological difficulties, including:- depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and life transitions. Through working with individuals who have experienced difficult traumatic events in both childhood and adulthood I have become particularly interested in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and attachment difficulties.

I have experience working from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches.
